Northern California will have an above-normal wildland fire potential outlook through September. According to Predictive Services with the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC), La Nina will continue to weaken over the summer and bring above-average temperatures across the north state and below-average rainfall. Much of northern California will remain in extreme and exceptional drought conditions that cannot only continue through summer but also have the potential to intensify. The NIFC releases the fire outlook each June for the fire year.
