Nevada Law Enforcement Launches Speed Awareness Campaign to Reduce Traffic Fatalities

As many folks travel to Reno and surrounding areas in Nevada beware that The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is joining law enforcement agencies across Nevada for the Joining Forces Speed Awareness Campaign from January 13 through January 31.
Speeding remains a leading factor in traffic crashes and fatalities. It’s not just about exceeding the posted speed limit—driving too fast for road, weather, or traffic conditions can be just as dangerous. Speed reduces reaction time, increases stopping distance, and can turn a crash into a life-threatening event.
Every choice behind the wheel matters. Slowing down helps protect drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and everyone sharing Nevada’s roads. Together, we can work toward the goal of zero fatalities on Nevada roadways.
