The California Lottery expressed their excitement for the winner on Facebook shortly after the draw. The winning ticket was sold at Sunshine Food and Gas on Rhonda Rd. in Cottonwood. By matching all six numbers, the winner secured the $1.22 billion prize. The CA Lottery commented that the timing was perfect for the New Year.
