The U.S. Department of Labor has increased disaster relief employment and training services by a near 960,000 dollars. The effort was made in response to the devastating wildfires in August of 2020 in Northern California. Total project funds now total nearly 4 million. Funds will be used by The California Employment Development Department to deliver employment and training services and provide disaster recovery employment to people affected by wildfire in both Lassen and Plumas county along with several others throughout the North State. With the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s issuance of a major disaster declaration in August of 2020, California was able to request this funding.
