You’re being asked to reduce your water usage amid an extremely dry start to the year. Governor Gavin Newsom yesterday announces tighter restrictions for water conservation. Under the order, emergency regulations are expected to take effect mid-June, where local water suppliers must act as if their water supplies have dipped by at least 10 to 20% moving them into a Level 2 shortage contingency plan. This means your lawn will only get watered on certain days of the week, and could trigger higher rates or penalties for if you use more than a set amount of water, yet this is left up to local rules.
