City of Redding Initiates Liberty Street Sidewalk Improvement Project

REDDING, Calif. – The City of Redding has officially commenced the Liberty Street Sidewalk Improvement Project, aimed at addressing tree root damage and enhancing local infrastructure.

Contracted to SnL Group, Inc. for $489,708, the project targets repair needs along Liberty Street, East Street, Eureka Way, and Trinity Street. Key components of the project include the repair of damaged sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and asphalt concrete, as well as the replacement of outdated water meter boxes, valve covers, and signage.

In addition to infrastructure repairs, the initiative involves the removal of existing trees and the planting of new ones, along with the installation of appropriate irrigation systems to support the new plantings.

The City of Redding has announced that work commenced today and is projected to conclude by May 30, 2025. Construction activities will predominantly occur during the daytime, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
