CHP Labor Day Enforcement Cuts Fatal Crashes and Saves Lives in California

Lassen CHP Office issued 132 Citations, 1 DUI arrest and made 230 enforcement contracts over the Labor Day Weekend.
However, Over the Labor Day Weekend Holiday Enforcement Period (Aug 29–Sept 1), CHP officers were out in full force across California. Our mission: stop dangerous driving behaviors before they became tragedies.
📉 Compared to the same period in 2024 (CHP jurisdiction):
➡️ Fatal crashes dropped 49% (39 → 20)
➡️ Fatalities dropped 51% (43 → 21)
📈 Enforcement activity increased:
➡️ 45,829 enforcement contacts
➡️ 34,331 citations issued
➡️ 19,798 speeding citations
➡️ 1,214 DUI arrests (up from 1,140 last year)
