On Monday evening, the CAL FIRE Butte Unit was dispatched to two separate water rescue incidents in Butte County. The first incident occurred on Ord Ferry Road at a location known as the Dips. According to CAL FIRE Butte Unit Public Information Officer John Gaddie, the emergency call was received at approximately 5:20 p.m. It involved a vehicle that had become submerged in water.
Butte County Search and Rescue teams were deployed to assist CAL FIRE crews in managing the situation on Ord Ferry Road.
Shortly after, a second water rescue was reported on River Road, in close proximity to the initial incident. CAL FIRE received the call at around 5:58 p.m., reporting another vehicle trapped in floodwaters.
Both incidents are currently being addressed by the combined efforts of CAL FIRE and local rescue teams.
