Sunday, Suanville’s Majors and Minors All-Star teams clinched the District 48 championship. Both teams going undefeated, with games beginning Thursday afternoon ahead of the 4th of July Holiday.
The Majors All-Star team defeated Quincy 10-7 in their final game, having to take the win twice over Quincy and Feather River to get the banner. While the Minors All-Star team defeated Feather River 11-1 in the championship game after first getting the double win over the Chester, Modoc, and Quincy teams.
The teams will advance with an eye out for the state title, with the Majors headed to sections in Sutter, while Minors advance to sections in McKinleyville from July 13th to the 15th.
The Little League Juniors All-Star Team plays the District tournament this week, starting today through the 9th in Quincy.
Susanville Little League has won 39 district championships in the district’s 63-year history, beginning in 1960.
If any teams win the section tournament, they head to state and regional tournaments, eventually leading to the Little League World Series being held in Pennsylvania.
