The Golden Eagles Volleyball team is currently ranked #1 in the state.  The reigning 3C2A State Champions finished Non-Conference Play with a 23-1 record that includes straight set victories over #2 San Diego Mesa and #3 San Joaquin Delta.  Sophomore setter Teya Gibbs from Chico, CA was recently honored as an All-Tourney selection at the NorCal/SoCal Showcase in Bakersfield, CA earlier this season.  When asked about what makes this year’s squad special, Teya commented “our chemistry off the court makes it easier for us to play on the court, I think this team has a really strong bond”.  Sophomore Libero Peyton Estes from McArthur, CA shares similar thoughts in commenting that “the team bond this season is even stronger than last season”.  Estes who was recently named All-Tourney selection at the San Joaquin Delta Classic believes that the freshman experience she and the other sophomores experienced the previous season has greatly shaped the 2025 squad and is a direct contribution to the team’s success.  “We enjoyed that feeling from last season and want to experience it again, it is also important to us that the freshman this season have the same experience.” commented Teya Gibbs.  The Golden Eagles Volleyball team expects success and is driven to achieve success.  Feather River College has achieved 4 Volleyball (Indoor and Beach) state Titles in four years (2019, 2022, spring 2024 and Fall 2024).  I asked Peyton which tournament each regular season is your favorite?  Estes answered “Delta has been my favorite tournament both seasons, I love the team bonding on those trips, and it is excellent competition.  I enjoy that we play for a championship and the rivalry with Delta is also a reason I enjoy the tourney.”  When asked what makes this team special, Teya Gibbs commented that she believes “it is the culture, FRC has a family atmosphere, and we love competing for championships.”  The Golden Eagles will open GVC Conference play at Butte on Friday, October 10th (game time is 6:00 PM).  The first time we get to see FRC Volleyball at home is on October 22nd versus Lassen (game time is 6:00 PM)
