Golden Eagles Softball Sweeps 1st Round Regional Playoffs!!

The Golden Eagles Softball team hosted Fresno City College on Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd in the first round of the 3C2A Regional Playoffs.  Golden Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year – Brittney Byram chalked up two complete game victories from the rubber and recorded 19 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched.  Head Coach Meredith Aragon also reached a milestone when she achieved career win 300 and 301 with the two victories.  The Golden Eagles entered 1st round play as the #8 seed in the North and will now travel to play College of San Mateo on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th.  Game times are 2:00 PM on Friday and 12:00 PM on Saturday (Game 3, if necessary, will start at 2:00 PM on Saturday).  1st Team All-Conference and All NorCal Sophomore Faith Helmandollar (Queen Creek, AZ) ignited the Golden Eagles in Game 1 with 2 hits and all 4 of FRC’s RBI.  Sophomore Shortstop Emma Robles (Delano, CA – 1st Team All GVC) contributed with 2 hits in 2 at bats and scored a run.  On Saturday, the Golden Eagles muscled up behind Faith Helmandollar‘s 3 run Homer and Lily Lee‘s Grand Slam.  Lee and Helmandollar’s bombs accounted for 7 of the Golden Eagles 8 runs and sealed the 3C2A 1st Round playoff victories.  Lily from Carson City, NV recorded 2 hits in game 2 and has also been honored as a 1st Team All-Conference member.  GVC Player of the Year McKynlee Gay (Quincy, CA) finished 5 for 5 at the plate with 3 runs scored.  Good Luck to 2026 Golden Valley Conference Champions as they continue in the Post Season!
