The Feather River Men’s Soccer team had their first game Friday August 25th against Foothill College (L, 1-0). The Golden Eagles played yesterday Monday August 28th against Cabrillo College (T, 0-0).  Before the season started, Head Coach Conrad Gooley got to speak about his program and the upcoming 2023 season. This is what he had to say about building off the success of last season, “As a team we plan on continuing to build a family culture. A strong team culture will allow us to bond together as a team and provide the right chemistry which will allow an environment in which everyone can benefit to play at their full potential.”

The Golden Eagles had a great year last year where they won the Golden Valley Conference. This is what Coach Gooley had to say about his new team, “We are excited to have our freshman group back from last year and looking to build from our past season success to achieve our goals that we have set as a team. We have a very promising new class that comes from all over the world that are very eager and excited to get started. The new incoming freshmen have all came here to FRC with very positive attitudes to be part of the student athlete experience. For our sophomore class, they are a group who bought into the program and have created a family culture that has helped make the transition for the new freshman very easy. We are happy as a coaching staff to have such a great environment for everyone here at Feather River College. We have a unique program that gives the community an opportunity to watch players that come from all over the country and parts of the world who are proud to be here and be able to compete for the college and the community.” Catch the Golden Eagles on the road Thursday August 31st at Clovis College and Friday September 1st at Las Positas College.
