Feather River College Men’s Rodeo Team Secures Top Finishes and Regional Leadership

Feather River College Athletics proudly announces strong performances by the men’s rodeo team, securing third place finishes at both the Fresno State University Rodeo and the Bakersfield College Rodeo. Freshman Ian Leavitt distinguished himself as the regional leader in bareback riding.

Recent Competition Highlights:

  • Fresno State University Rodeo (Nov. 7, Clovis Rodeo Grounds)
  • Men’s team: 3rd place
  • Women’s team: 7th place
  • Men’s all-around: Cache Montgomery, 4th place
  • Bareback riding: Ian Leavitt, 2nd place
  • Steer wrestling: James Peterson, 2nd place; Cache Montgomery, 6th place
  • Team roping heeler: Cache Montgomery, 6th place
  • Breakaway roping: Emilee Miller, 6th place
  • Goat tying: Ava Solberg, 8th place
  • Bakersfield College Rodeo (Nov. 8-9, Kern County Fairgrounds)
  • Men’s team: 3rd place
  • Saddle bronc: Ian Livingstone, 3rd place
  • Bareback riding: Ian Leavitt, 1st place
  • Bull riding: Hunter Maxwell, 1st place
  • Steer wrestling: Cache Montgomery, 3rd place
  • Short round qualifiers/top 10 include all above plus Garrett Christiansen (tie-down roping), Emilee Miller and Emily Bennett (breakaway roping)

Regional Standings After Fresno and Bakersfield Rodeos:

  • Men’s team: 4th place
  • Women’s team: 8th place
  • Saddle bronc: Ian Livingstone, 4th place
  • Bareback riding: Ian Leavitt, 1st place
  • Bull riding: Hunter Maxwell, 2nd place
  • Steer wrestling: James Peterson, 2nd place; Cache Montgomery, 4th place

Following their participation at the West Hills Community College Rodeo on Nov. 27, the Feather River College men’s rodeo team heads to compete at the Allan Hancock College Rodeo on Nov. 28 and 29, held at the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo Grounds.
