Lassen Athletics is proud to announce that three more Cougar Baseball standouts are continuing their academic and athletic careers at the NCAA Division I level. Coming from one of the smallest colleges in California, these Cougs are heading to top-tier programs—including a Power Four school—proving that toughness, discipline, and belief can take you anywhere.
Luke Morgan → University of Oregon
The 2024 Golden Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year, Luke was also named First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State. A competitor in every sense, he now joins the Oregon Ducks—one of the most storied programs in college baseball.
Rominic Quiban → University of Nevada, Reno
A dynamic all-around player, Rominic earned First Team All-Conference and was selected to the All-Northern Team for his impact throughout the season. Now, he returns home to suit up for the Wolf Pack and compete at the D-I level.
Mitchell Basterrechea → Queens University of Charlotte
A consistent force for the Cougs, Mitchell was honored with First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State recognition. He now joins Queens University as they enter full NCAA Division I membership in the ASUN Conference.
We’re incredibly proud of Luke, Rominic, and Mitchell. Their stories prove that big dreams can start in small places.
