Michael Joseph Neill 74, of Susanville California passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Vancouver, Washington on October 30, 2025.
Mike was born on April 1, 1951 in Susanville, California, to Joseph Neill and Elizabeth (Webb) Neill. He was a proud graduate of Lassen High School, Class of 1969. Michael lead a life that centered around hard work, and family. Over the years, he built a diverse career as a mechanic, telephone repairman, and correctional officer, but above all he was a dedicated father, brother, grandfather and friend. Outside of work, Michael loved being outdoors, skiing, sailing and cycling. His greatest love, however, was working on cars, he always had a auto project or three that he was working on. One of his favorite events of the year was attending Hot August Nights. Michael found great satisfaction in lending a helping hand to those around him. When visiting family and friends he would almost always help with a project that needed doing. He took great pride in doing things right and was known for his reliability and problem solving skills. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his daughter Michelle Glenn and son-in-law Michael Glenn; his son Jacob Neill and daughter-in-law Heidi Neill; his brother David Neill and his wife Nancy; his sisters Valarie Class and her husband Tom and Sally Harding and her husband Jeff; and his beloved grandchildren Zane and Berkeley Glenn, and Megan and Caitlyn Neill. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth. His sister Lorna, and grandson Michael.
A celebration of life will be held for Michael Neill on May 9, 2026 at the Monticola Club in Susanville, California from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
