The month of May gets off to a windy start today with the wind advisory in place. It will be in effect from 7am this morning through 8 o’clock this evening. You could see winds from the west gusting up to 45-55, with ridge winds reaching upwards of 100mph. Travel may be impacted on 395 as winds increase into the day for high profile vehicles, and blowing dust can reduce your visibility. Additionally the Lassen Modoc CALFIRE unit has set today as a NO Permissive burn day in Plumas, Lassen, and Modoc Counties due to the predicted winds.
