The Almanor Foundation’s Welcome Home Greenville (WHG) program is making significant strides with the upcoming placement of its second home at 305 Bush St. This project highlights a strong community collaboration aimed at restoring housing options for residents displaced by the Dixie Fire and attracting new families to Greenville.
The site at 305 Bush St. is fully prepared with sewer and water hookups and a completed foundation pad, ready for the arrival of the home constructed by RRA Builders. After installation, the home will be repainted, finished with new flooring, and receive minor landscaping before it goes on the market. This second home mirrors the popular design of the first WHG house but may feature a different exterior color.
Susan Bryner, president and CEO of The Almanor Foundation, emphasizes that the progress of the WHG program shows the power of community working together towards shared goals. The foundation expresses gratitude to everyone who has supported this effort, noting that these projects rebuild not only homes but hope.
In addition to providing housing, the WHG program serves as a valuable educational opportunity. Indian Valley Academy senior Adin Lunder is undertaking his senior project by working closely with the WHG team. Through this experience, he’s gaining insights into project management, investor relations, legal structures, and the entire process of bringing a manufactured home from purchase to escrow.
Looking ahead, The Almanor Foundation plans to expand its career and technical education initiatives, fostering deeper partnerships with hands-on programs that benefit local schools and students.
