Cedar Pass Snow Park is reopening for the 2025/2026 ski season and needs volunteers! Located just outside Cedarville, this all-volunteer ski hill will operate weekends only from January through March, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After a few quiet off-seasons, crews are updating the T-bar lift and key infrastructure to ensure a smooth, safe season.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Ski Patrol (including Patrol Manager)
- Lift Operators
- Concessions Staff
- Rentals Department
- Board Members
Volunteers receive a free meal and drink each shift, plus lift access based on hours worked (full-day = full-day lift access; half-day = half-day access). Volunteer time can be used for themselves or their child (not both). Refrigerators are available for storing personal items.
Ski Patrol Requirements:
- Intermediate or better skiing/snowboarding skills
- First Aid/Medical Certification (e.g., National Ski Patrol OEC, EMT, Wilderness First Responder, RN, PA, MD)
- CPR certification
- Toboggan training (minimum 2 hours per season)
- Basic First Aid accepted only with a medically certified responder on-site
Ski Patrol is critical for the park’s operation; at least one qualified patroller must be on duty for the hill to open.
Mountain Operations Volunteers: Help with morning grooming, safety signage, lift inspections, transporting patrol sleds, closing procedures, and more. All lift and equipment operators receive training and use two-way radios for communication.
Rental Changes: This year, onsite ski rentals will no longer be offered due to liability and risk management policies. Only snowboard rentals will be available onsite. Cedar Pass is seeking an independent business or individual to operate the ski rental service as a separate venture, with rental equipment and support available.
Upcoming Events: Volunteer Work Day on Sunday, October 19 at 9:00 a.m. at Cedar Pass Snow Park. No experience needed—just bring gloves and enthusiasm!
Get Involved: To volunteer or inquire about the ski rental opportunity, contact Nichole at (530) 640-2077.
