Lassen Volcanic National Park is undergoing several hazard tree-felling operations and is making intermittent closures throughout the park.
In a precautionary move to ensure visitor safety, the Lassen Volcanic National Park’s Highway is set to undergo a temporary closure at Summit Lake, starting at 10 am this morning. This closure, primarily for hazard tree removal, is expected to be intermittent.
The closure will impact vehicle access and hiking trail access and day-use activities at the Summit Lake area through Friday.
The closure was lifted over the weekend as no active tree felling was taking place; however, as park officials prioritize safety and take proactive measures to address potential risks associated with unstable trees, plan to see various closures throughout the area. You are advised to plan alternative routes and adjust your itineraries accordingly.
