Overnight downtown, several unlocked cars fell victim to thieves rifling through personal belongings, seizing the opportunity of unlocked doors.
Statistics reveal that vehicle break-ins are not uncommon. Data shows a 15% increase in vehicle break-ins compared to last year, emphasizing the importance of taking preventive measures to secure personal property.
In light of these incidents, the Plumas Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to remain vigilant and adopt proactive measures, such as locking all car doors securely. Additionally, valuables should be removed from your vehicles or kept out of sight to minimize theft risk.
