UPDATE: Rock Fire burns 70 acres west of Redding, 30% contained

CAL FIRE officials said the Rock Fire, burning northwest of Redding off of Benson Dr., remains 70 acres with 30% containment.

Officials said the winds are in their favor and they will be working the rest of the night and into tomorrow towards full containment.

Because the fire is burning in the Carr Fire burn scar, CAL FIRE says their crews are struggling to build dozer lines.

UPDATE: Dairy Fire grows to 150 acres south of Red Bluff, 20% contained

The Dairy Fire burning south of Red Bluff, near East Canal Rd. and Tyler Rd., has grown to 150 acres, according to CAL FIRE officials.

The fire is now 20% contained.
