Unofficial election results are in. Nearly 82% of Lassen county voted yes to remove Newsom from office with a voter turnout of just over 8000 out of the near 16,000 registered voters in the county, that’s right at 50%.While Plumas county turnout was around 57% with over 8,000 votes counted out of the 14,000 registered, and Sierra county had a turnout of 65%.
Mail in ballots are still able to be counted as they come in, voters had to have their ballots postmarked by the very latest yesterday.
Statewide with 68% of votes in, Newsom has nearly 64% voting No, in favor of keeping him in office, and only 36% of voters voting yes to remove him. Lassen and Modoc county have the highest percentages of Yes votes throughout the state both at 82% and 78%.
Results will be certified by Oct. 22nd.
The Lassen community college trustee race was won by Robin Hanson who received over 5,000 votes to Robert Hardy’s 1,800.
