Two candidates for Plumas County Sheriff introduce themselves at a Lake Almanor Town Hall Meeting. Current Sheriff Todd Johns was first to speak, talking of his long history and ties to the community of Greenville and experience with COVID and wildfires. The challenger Dwight Cline followed and closed with sharing his decision to run against a long time friend with a promise to devulge deeper into the reasons for his running as the campaign builds. The county of Plumas will have to make a decision come June 7th on whether to keep Johns as their Sheriff who has weathered COVID and the massive Dixie Fire during his two years as Sheriff, or welcome in a new Sheriff who seeks to build the working relationship within the department, as he sees is the greatest challenge.
