Travel on 299 Gets Easier with the Addition of Two More Openings During Daytime Closures

You can get through the 299 monument slide with the addition of two new opening times. Those will be added to the Monday through Saturday daytime schedule. The hwy will stay closed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m Monday through Saturday from Cedar Flat to east of Big Bar. Yet here are six times when you will be able to get through. Those windows are at 7:00 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., noon, 2, and 4:15 p.m. Get there 15 minutes early and a pilot car will escort the line of cars through from both directions. You can still expect one-way traffic controls through the evening hours starting at 6 and ending at 6 in the morning the next day everyday including Sunday from the West of Del Loma. You will see flaggers only, there will be no pilot car during those hours.
