Under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the project aims to treat over 160,000 acres to restore lands damaged by the Dixie Fire in 2021, Walker Fire in 2019, and Moonlight Fire in 2007. The project area stretches from the Plumas National Forest-Lassen National Forest boundary, through Feather River Canyon, to the southern part of Lake Almanor, and down to Indian and Genessee Valleys.

A community meeting has been scheduled for Thursday in Taylorsville to gather input from the community.

Representatives from the Plumas National Forest and Sierra Institute for Community and Environment will be at the Historic Taylorsville Hall on Main Street from 6 to 7 p.m.

Those unable to attend in person can join by Zoom.
