Don’t get reg tagged; you must have had your weeds and rubbished cleared from your yard by today, as this day marks Susanville’s weed abatement deadline. As customary, the last Monday of June is when the Susanville Fire Department declares that your property must have weeds no higher than 6 inches within 50 feet of your home, and trash must be cleared or face penalties. This also required you to trim tree branches up to 6 feet from the ground.
These preventative measures help protect your home and property from fire. If you are not in compliance, you could be fined. Department staff will continue to inspect properties.
