Honoring a hero, Susanville Symphony hosts a Veterans Day Concert with a spotlight on one of their own.
Army Veteran of 37 years, Brigadier General Dick Bendix, served during Korea, eventually ending his service at the Pentagon. Dick has been playing drums since he was 11; the now 96-year-old has teased this will be likely his last performance as a longstanding member of the Susanville Symphony, Maestro Ben Wade said he has been with the symphony since its start.
To celebrate, Wade has had Dick hand-pick each of the pieces to be played by the swing band, and the Maestro is inviting you to come join “the greatest generation” and the music they danced to. The Concert is Free to all veterans and will be held at the Veterans Memorial Hall on Main Street in Susanville, starting at 2:30.
