Susanville School District Announces New Leadership at Diamond View Middle and Meadow View Schools

The Susanville School District has named Daniel Hartrum and Meghan Orange as the new site leaders for Diamond View Middle School and Meadow View School, respectively, following a thorough selection process. Superintendent Jason Waddell confirmed the appointments, highlighting the district’s commitment to strong leadership.

An 11-member panel representing diverse district employees from both schools participated in vetting candidates to ensure alignment with the needs of staff and students across classifications.

Daniel Hartrum, a lifelong member of the Susanville community and a former Diamond View student, will take over as principal at Diamond View Middle School. He succeeds Dede Heimbigner, who is transitioning to oversee McKinley School this summer. Superintendent Waddell praised Hartrum as a testament to the district’s educational impact and expressed confidence in his ability to lead a team of dedicated educators.

Meghan Orange joins the district as the new administrator at Meadow View School, bringing four years of experience in both assistant principal and principal roles from neighboring Plumas County. With a background that includes teaching, counseling, and administrative positions, Orange is expected to be a valuable addition to the district. Waddell noted her extensive knowledge and passion for student learning will make her an excellent fit for the community.

The district looks forward to the positive contributions of its new leaders as it continues its mission to provide quality education to Susanville students.
