Susanville’s Police Department responds to nearly 200 calls for service over the New Year’s Eve weekend.
Interim Police Chief Mike Bollinger says the last hoorah of 2023 had a significant increase in police response as compared to last year as illegal fireworks and even gunshots were seen and heard widespread across the county.
Interim Chief Bollinger added that the department had a successful DUI enforcement on NYE night, saying that overall, the community “behaved themselves,” making zero arrests for drivers under the influence.
Bollinger called this a successful year-end.
