The Susanville Police Department has a new messaging sign trailer you will start seeing around town. The department debuted the sign by displaying it in an overnight tease out front of the Susanville Fire Department’s building on Main street lit up with the words, “SHHH….Firemen sleeping inside”. Although with jokes aside the sign will be used to display messages for special events and as a radar sign. You can see the sign today out on SR 395 Just before the Susanville Airport warning drivers of their speed. The sign was funded partially through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Susanville public works department.
