A federal investigation is underway of Susanville native Bradley Reger, a local nurse practitioner, and ambulatory service operator, for alleged sexual abuse of boys.

Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon says this Fall, the sheriff’s office received initial reports from the church of the Nazarene in Kansas of the alleged sexual abuse of minors, to which the department involved the FBI based on the large scale of probable victims spanning multiple states, launching warrants for his apprehension. Reger was located and arrested on July 6th for, as the FBI and HSI say, including allegations of engagement in illicit sexual conduct in foreign places.

The departments are now seeking to identify potential victims of Reger. According to court documents, Reger is believed to have targeted males between the ages of 12 and 18. Numerous alleged victims reportedly attended religious-affiliated schools, institutions, trips, camps, or clinics, where Reger served as youth group leader, camp counselor, and coach. The authorities are actively seeking information from anyone who may have been victimized by Reger, whether in the United States or abroad. As Reger regularly traveled outside the country on religious mission trips.

To assist the investigation, the FBI and HSI have made available a short form for potential victims to provide thier information. If you believe you or your minor dependent(s) have been victimized by Bradley Reger or have any information supporting this case, you are strongly encouraged to complete the form. Additionally, if you know someone who may have fallen victim to Reger’s alleged actions, you are also asked to encourage them to complete the form.

Reger was well-known in the community and operated such businesses as Mountain Lifeflight, Lassen Ambulance Service, Mountain EMS, and Mountain Lifeflight of Nevada.

The Susanville Police Department has been contacted to determine if Reger had prior accusations against him for the sexual abuse of minors.

This is a developing story; the sheriff’s office adds that more information will become available through the U.S. Attorney’s office and FBI within the week as the investigation progresses.
