A Susanville man has been sentenced to 15 years in state prison for attempted murder last year. The Lassen County District Attorney has announced the sentencing of 63-year-old Kenneth Allen Hunter for 2nd-degree attempted murder, use of a firearm, and inflicting great bodily injury. In September of last year, Hunter shot at a woman at her home in uptown Susanville seven times striking her with three of those bullets. He was able to flee the scene but then engaged in a standoff with law enforcement at his home that ended in his arrest the next morning. The DA commended the woman who survived the attack for her victim statement to help bring the case to a close.
