Saturday will officially start the Susanville Litlle Leagues baseball season as teams march down Riverside to the Pat Murphey Little League Fields for Opening Day Ceremonies. This will be the league’s 2nd annual opening day parade, complete with the return of the Susanville Fire Department 100ft ladder truck that will drape the American flag over the field’s entrance to welcome all the young players.
There will be quite the commotion starting at 7 am as teams gather in the Tractor Supply Parking lot. Once the parade begins at 8 am, you can expect a brief road closure from Laurel Street at the Tractor Supply parking lot to Riverside Drive to River Street.
You are encouraged to line the streets and cheer on the teams as they begin their season. The league will have one of its largest seasons, with over 400 ball players taking to the fields.
