The City of Susanville updates its Fireworks municipal code. The amendments were made official during the city council’s May 18th meeting to include social host liability. Meaning you will be responsible for the response of emergency personnel in the event illegal fireworks are being used on your property, or for helping in the setting off illegal fireworks in a public right of way. Within the city limits, it is allowed to light off “safe n’ sane” fireworks that you can find in the many fundraiser booths seen throughout the town. However, you may only light those fireworks on the 4th of July holiday. You can find the full ordinance by visiting cityofsusanville.net.
