The Susanville Fire Department is inviting the community to participate in its traditional remembrance ceremony to honor the first responders and many people who lost their lives on the fateful morning of September 11th. This will mark the 22nd anniversary of the tragic events that transpired that day.

The department says the “September 11th Remembrance Ceremony aims to bring the community together to reflect, remember, and show gratitude for the courage and resilience displayed by so many during and after the events of 9/11.

All are encouraged to attend to “stand in unity, pay respects, and remind ourselves of the strength and resilience that can emerge from tragedy.”

If you wish to attend the ceremony, you are asked to arrive at the steps of the fire station before 7 a.m. at 7:05; the ceremony will begin, which includes a ringing of the station’s bell.
