In two days, Suanville’s city council will discuss a grant to fund revising the city’s zoning code to increase housing production. The city has been given a grant of $65,000 from the Department of Housing and Community Development. This funding comes from the Local Early Action Planning Grants program. The grant money is meant to support projects that help create planning documents and improve housing production processes. The goal is to make it easier to meet the requirements of the sixth cycle of the regional housing need assessment. Though the city says due to limited staff resources, they plan to use the grant money to hire professional services to revise the zoning codes to make building houses in the city more efficient.

The council will meet at City Hall on Wednesday, June 7th, at 5 pm.
