The Susanville City Council met in closed session to discuss two items — a conference with labor negotiators (Fire Unit, Miscellaneous Unit, Public Works Unit, SPOA Unit, Department Heads), and an evaluation of the city manager.
According to City Manager Dan Newton, the council gave direction to staff, but took no reportable action.
The council unanimously approved its Consent Calendar (minutes for the council’s April 2 meeting and vendor and payroll warrants).
Under new business, the council unanimously approved Resolution No. 25-6420, an annual status certificate for the military display at Memorial Park, the council unanimously approved Resolution No. 25-6421, an annual status certificate for the military display at the Susanville Municipal Airport, and the council unanimously approved Resolution No. 25-6422 authorizing a $100,000 budget amendment for the State COPS 2002 fund to pay for frontline officer expenses and equipment.
Under continuing business, the council unanimously approved Resolution No. 25-6423 placing a moratorium on city sponsored proclamations or flag raising, and the council gave staff direction on the city’s proposed mission and vision statements.
The city council’s next meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7.
