Bolstering conifer seedling production, Sierra Pacific Industries holds a ribbon cutting on a state-of-the-art nursery.
This over $40 million investment, supported by a $3 million CAL FIRE grant, aims to address gaps in conifer seedling production and support California’s reforestation efforts, including post-fire recovery. The project’s initial phase showcased 6.1 million seedlings currently growing on-site. Once fully operational, the nursery will have the capacity to produce 25 million seedlings annually.
The nursery plays a critical role in supporting the environment, economy, and resilience of California’s forests which have faced significant forest loss due to wildfires.
