The proposed Skyline Mine project near Susanville is now under environmental review.
Located northeast of Susanville, close to Skyline Road and Lassen Community College, the project is planned by TLT Enterprises, also known as Hat Creek Construction.
The mining operation could last up to 50 years. It includes quarrying, processing, and land reclamation activities.
In October 2023, a Notice of Preparation for an Environmental Impact Report was issued, marking the start of the formal state review. This review period ran from October 27 to November 27, 2023.
The Lassen County Planning and Building Services department is the lead agency handling this review. They provide updates on the project’s status, approval progress, and any upcoming public hearings.
You can find detailed project documents in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) database and on the Lassen County Planning Department website.
