Lassen county candidates have had the opportunity to pull signatures in lieu of filing and so far the county will see a race for both district 3 and 5 supervisor seats up for election. Jeff Hemphill the current District 3 supervisor has chosen to again run for his seat and Thomas Neely will be running against him. Yet district 5 currently held by Tom Hammond is up for grabs as the supervisor will not be running again. Three candidates have emerged, Jason Ingram, Joann Sterling, and Tom Traphagan will be competing for the seat. Traphagan is the founder of Mile High Mill & Grain Co, Sterling is the owner of a dog breeding company out of Doyle, and Ingram is a local volunteer firefighter, school board member, and District 5s current planning commissioner. All Candidates will have until March 11th to file their candidacy papers with the Lassen County clerk recorder’s office. We will continue to cover and update you on the upcoming Primary to be held on June 7th.
