Sierra Theatre Transformed into Susanville Performing Arts Center

Exciting news is on the horizon for the Sierra Theatre! A dedicated group of community members has come together with the goal of transforming this historic venue into a dynamic performing arts center for Susanville.

After initial efforts laid the foundation, we are proud to announce the formation of the Susanville Performing Arts Center (SPAC). This new nonprofit organization is focused on evolving the Sierra Theatre into a state-of-the-art venue for live performances and community engagement. Our 501(c)(3) status is currently in progress and will be retroactive to July 15.

What’s next for SPAC? We will be raising funds through grants, donations, event rentals, and community fundraisers. Every dollar will be allocated to enhancing the theatre for live performances, including improvements to lighting, sound, and stage facilities.

Importantly, the Sierra Theatre will continue to show first-run films during summers, school breaks, and holidays. The concession stand, featuring beer and wine, will also remain a beloved part of the experience.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Abby Datema, Carla Dollar, and Ben Wade for their invaluable support and guidance in bringing this vision to life.
