The Shelly Fire, which has been burning in Siskiyou County since July 3, 2024, has now consumed 15,477 acres. The fire’s cause is still under investigation. Here is the latest update on the incident:

The primary focus has shifted to suppression repair as the fire perimeter has held during recent strong winds. Firefighters continue their efforts towards full containment, while resources are being released to support new incidents. Those remaining are concentrating on timely repair and cleanup of areas used during suppression efforts.
