Seneca Healthcare District Receives Generous Donation

Seneca Healthcare receives a generous donation from the hospital’s auxiliary.

Thirty-three thousand dollars was received at a June 14th luncheon where CEO Shawn McKenzie accepted the funds thanking the auxiliary for their continued support of the hospitals over the years. Since the auxiliary’s inception in 1977, over 780,000 has been donated to support healthcare for the Lake Almanor Basin.

Judy Cline, CNO of SHD, also thanked the group’s members for their time, dedication, and endowments, saying she is grateful for everything the organization gives to the hospital each year, adding that Seneca will use the money to buy patient-care equipment and other items that support quality care. This will include a human simulator for the Education Department, a slit-lamp for the Emergency Department, new patio furniture for the Long-Term Care facility, and Part of the funds will also go towards an Ortho Optix Reader for the Labs.

The Seneca Hospital Auxiliary is an independent charitable organization with its primary mission to assist the Seneca Healthcare District in providing care and comfort to patients and promoting the community’s health and welfare.
