Seneca Healthcare will transition to an electronic health record system by the summer. The healthcare district has been overhauling its record-keeping for the past 9 months. The new records system, Cerner Community Works, will act as the main system for patient care, medical records, regulatory reporting, and billing. Seneca says this transition is one of the largest and most comprehensive projects that can be undertaken.
The last year has been dedicated to ensuring that the system is properly developed to enhance services and capabilities. With that nearly out of the way, Seneca is scheduled to go live on the new system on Monday, June 5th.
Before the launch, staff will be trained on the new system to be as familiar as possible. Cerner will completely replace the current system though it will remain in the background for access to historical patient data.
Due to this change, Seneca Healthcare District has postponed the Community Wellness Screenings until the fall. You can expect dates to be updated this June.
