Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) announces that Lori Koehler, a family care provider and deeply valued member of the SHD clinical team, will be leaving the organization in March 2026. Lori has chosen to relocate to be closer to her children and her two young grandchildren. During her years of service at Seneca, Lori became known not only for her clinical expertise but also for the warmth, compassion, and unwavering commitment she brought to her patients and the Chester/Lake Almanor community.

“Working at Seneca has been one of the greatest blessings of my life,” Lori said. “I have truly loved my time here. This community, my patients, and my colleagues have become like family. I never expected to have grandchildren in my wildest dreams, but now that I have two, I can’t imagine not being closer to them. While it’s incredibly hard to leave a place I adore, I’m excited for this next chapter with my kids and grandkids.”

To ensure a seamless transition and continuity of care, SHD is pleased to announce that recruiting a new provider is currently in progress. We’re excited to welcome a new provider this spring and are committed to making the transition smooth, thoughtful, and rooted in the same community-centered care you know and trust.

Patient Transition Plan

All patients currently working with Lori may choose among several SHD clinicians who are currently accepting new patients, and our clinic team is happy to assist in finding the best fit.

Patients with questions about transitioning care, or who would like to discuss provider options, are encouraged to contact the clinic directly at 1(833) 227-3743.

Message from Leadership

SHD leadership expressed deep gratitude for Lori’s dedication and impact, noting that her presence will be greatly missed by both staff and patients.

“Lori embodies the heart of rural healthcare,” said Shawn McKenzie, CEO. “Her compassion, professionalism, and connection to this community have made a lasting difference. We send her off with heartfelt thanks and the very best wishes for her next adventure.”  Afterall, “A grandchild is someone that reaches for your hand but touches your heart.”

Seneca Healthcare District will share any further transition updates, as well as additional information to our community in the coming weeks. For questions or additional information, please contact the SHD Public Relations & Marketing Office at 833-227-3743 ext. 1502.
