Scammers come out of the woodwork during the holiday season, and Plumas Sierra Rural Electric is warning you of one happening now.
A scam artist calls members acting as employees and demanding immediate payment. Members are also being threatened with having service disconnected unless they pay cash, buy a pre-paid debit card, or use an online payment service to pay their bill at once. The co-op reminds you to be suspicious of calls asking for payment information.
