Salvation Army Secures Food Distribution for Westwood and Herlong Communities

The Salvation Army has the tag line, “Doing the Most Good.” While it is a nice thought, it also brings with it a challenge whereby we ask ourselves each day, “Where can we do the most good today?” Well about a week ago it was quite clear when the word went out that we lost two warrior agencies in the fight for food insecurity in Westwood and Herlong. SEE A NEED, FILL A NEED!
They are happy to report that with fantastic partnerships with volunteers from each area, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, District 1 Supervisory Mike Scanlan, and Lassen County District 5 Supervisor Jason Ingram, our neighbors in Westwood and Herlong  they will continue to receive and distribute food through the Susanville Salvation Army.
If you are interested in helping (we need muscles – on the 2nd and 4th Friday unloading the food truck at 9:00 am and at 10:00am on the Monday following the Friday food truck to load up the Herlong food, please contact us via phone at 530-257-0314, or email [email protected], or stop by the office and see us at 1560 Main Street in the Grocery Outlet center, behind Chevron for more details.
