The EPHC Foundation Wine Dinner Fundraiser was a night to remember, filled with laughter, community, and impactful moments. Held on June 8th at Cuccia’s Restaurant in Graeagle, this event brought together supporters, VIPs, employees, and friends of the EPHC Foundation.  The evening raised over $9,200 and more donations continue to come for Eastern Plumas Health Care providing supplemental financial support for the hospital and its services.

The festivities began with an impressive spread of appetizers, paired with Sparkling Rosé an d Donell-Lambrusco as guests mingled throughout the main dining room.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as community members reunited for a common cause.

Once attendees settled into their seats, a warm welcome was given by Patty Clawson, EPHC Foundation Chair. She thanked the community for their support of the event, and acknowledged some very important people that included, Dr. Christopher Stanton for his commitment to quality health care and for whom the Foundation established the Dr. Christopher Stanton Scholarship to assist EPHC employees with education and certifications. Jim Reynolds, for his contribution to bring the Senior Life Solutions program to our community. Matt Ham ilton, for his great efforts in making Nifty Thrifty an incredible resource for our community and Eastern Plumas Health Care.  Joanna Garneau, for her extraordinary efforts with the CalAIM program, and her outstanding team. And, lastly Augustine Corcoran, for his dedication to serving on the Board of Directors and commitment to EPHC missions and goals.

She also acknowledged the Foundation board; Bob Duncan, Dennis McHale, Lauren Westmoreland Hoffman, Gail McGrath (who also serves on the Board of Directors), Katherine Pairish, and Doug McCoy. With additional acknowledgments to Dr. Paul Swanson, Dr. Eric Bugna, and several of EPHC’s best and brightest who were in attendance that night.

An illuminating moment of the evening came when Doug McCoy, CEO and Foundation Ex Officio Director, shared some exciting news with the anticipated move of the Rehabilitation Health and Wellness Center to its new 5,800 square foot location coming this fall. The partnership with Senior Life Solutions to bring an outpatient geriatric mental health program to EPHC, an employee day care program scheduled to open later this year, the CalAIM expansion project which will renovate the second floor of the Nifty Thrifty building on Commercial Street, and the $17,000 awarded to EPHC employees to help assist with education and certification from the
Dr. Christopher Stanton Scholarship.

He concluded by saying that EPHC will prevail from the passage of the budget bill by the House. “We are pleased to have found opportunities to complete these important projects in the next year for our patients and staff,” said McCoy.

Attendees had the opportunity to sample a diverse selection of wines from Sardinia and Piedmont, Italy. Entrées for this Sicilian dining experience included Frutti de Mari, Sicilian Steak, and Capellini Aglio e Olio.
