Lassen County District Attorney issued the following Press Release.
SACC ANTHONY PEDROZA, 39, of Reno NV, was arraigned yesterday in the Lassen Superior Court on a criminal complaint alleging two counts of murder for the deaths of a 39-year old man and a 17-year old juvenile. The complaint also alleges a personal discharge of a firearm enhancement as well as a charge for transportation of an assault weapon. These allegations arise from an incident occurring in the morning hours of December 6 on Hwy 395.
Pedroza entered a not guilty plea to the charges and his next court date is scheduled for December 17, 2025. As with all criminally accused, Pedroza is presumed innocent until pled or proven guilty.
To address some misinformation contained in adverse publicity currently circulating: this was not a “road rage” incident, this was not “gang related” and there was no officer involved shooting.
This remains an ongoing investigation therefore no further comment on the merits of the case will be made at this time. Criminal court proceedings are open to the general public.
