Retired Sheriff Dean Growdon Honored for 11 Years of Service on State and Community Corrections Board

Sheriff Dean Growdon, recently retired from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, is recognized for his 11 years serving on the Board of State and Community Corrections.

Linda Penner, Chair of the Board presented Growdon with a plaque commemorating his time on the board. She highlighted Growdon’s commitment to the job and many accomplishments serving on numerous committees to serve the duties of the board.

Numerous other board members throughout the room commended the Sheriff for his dedication to the board, underscoring his strong work ethic.

The BSCC supports county adult and juvenile systems by inspecting jails and juvenile detention facilities, offering technical assistance, setting regulations, establishing training standards for correctional staff, and administering grants for public safety, re-entry, violence reduction, and rehabilitation programs.
